They booked their place in the Coupe de France final with victory over Nice in midweek, though, and Garcia claims that result is proof they are not faltering at a crucial time.
"We really have the feeling of having achieved something historic,'' Garcia said after the win.
"We're all proud to be taking the Lille fans to the Stade de France. (This) is a great response to those who thought that we were running out of gas.''
Lille cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to keep defending champions Marseille at bay with just seven games to go.
